Avon is working hard to build Tomorrow’s Leaders – Hello Tomorrow

Every year, Avon recognizes individuals and teams who have performed above and beyond their work and exhibited Avon’s Core Values: Belief, Integrity, Respect, Trust, and Humility.

In previous years, APMI had a local program, the Manufacturing Excellence Program, which was intended for our Rank & File Associates. Its objective was to recognize R&F Associates who have shown exemplary work performance for the year. Then, in 2008, APMI recognized both Management and Rank & File Associates during the 30th Avon Associates National Conference held at Sofitel Philippine Plaza.

To further Avon’s thrust in building tomorrow’s leaders, APMI launched APMI Awards 2009 with the awarding ceremony held at Belluvue Hotel. A rigorous process was administered to identify qualified associates and teams who have made significant contributions in making the Calamba site a great place to work.

In selecting the Model Associates, Line Coordinators (supervisors) and members of the Integration team submitted several nominations. From the nominations, the team ranked the nominees and identified 5 finalists for each area: R&F and Management Associates. The finalists underwent an assessment center which were composed of non-Avon Associates, with expertise in interview assessment and focused on the BIRTH Values and Leadership Edge Capabilities (only for Management Associate finalists) and how these values relate to the way they work with Avon.

The selection process for Continuous Improvement Teams was a different story. Members of the Integration Team made several nominations from their respective departments. The objective was to identify 3 project teams (including cross functional teams) that initiated programs and activities to improve operations efficiently and service levels, drove down cost, increase product quality, and increased Associate engagement. After the nominations, 10 will be considered as finalists.

The finalists underwent an assessment center which was composed of ACI Associates with strong background in supply chain. The focus of the panelists if the initiative resulted to a cultural change: “How did the initiative changed the mindset of our associates? Was there a paradigm shift?”

After careful review and consideration of the finalists, here are the winners of Model Associate and Continuous Improvement Team Awards
