"Paligid mo, luntian mo. Kinabukasan ng mundo, nakasalalay sa 'yo" (Jay Ordonez, Supply Chain Planning)
Hello Green Tomorrow is a global initiative led by our Chairman and CEO Andrea Jung which supports an environmentally friendly workplace.

While we have launched Going Green In the Workplace to support World Environment Day, APMI has continued to lead the thrust to commit to Environmental Management System (EMS) policy in pursuit of Total Quality and Environment Protection throughout the Supply Chain. The Integrated Management System (IMS) Team led by Derrick Degay, Manufacturing Director and IMR (Integrated Management Representative, Weng Domingo, QMS/CPI/IE Manager and several associates from different Departments that form part of IMS team, launched several programs to support the environment. |

Prior to the Environment Week, the IMS (Integrated Management Systems) team in partnership with SWAT (Sports and Wellness Action Team) launched the 2009 APMI Jeopardy. The objective of this contest is for the awareness of associates to the Environmental Management System (EMS) programs and policies in preparation for the EMS surveillance audit. Different House Teams competed for House Championship points as they answered questions related to EMS. All associates reviewed, memorized, and even prepared mental notes during breaks to spark up the competition. |

On the 27th of May, APMI underwent the EMS Surveillance audit which was conducted by TUV Rheinland Phils. Inc led by Jayzer Aquino, Melinda Villapando, Eusebio Sanglap & Preservando Dagdag. This follow up audit is in reference with APMI's thrust to maintain and conform to the ISO 14000 version 2004. The representatives audited the manufacturing facility and processes in relation to EMS and as day ended, the auditors were pleased to announce that APMI complied to the ISO 1400 version 2004 requirements with Zero Non - Conformance. |

The week after is the Green Week. Several activities were lined up to support the Avon's call to a beautiful Green Tomorrow. During that week, APMI had an Environment Trivia Contest which was participated by associates, suppliers, and business partners. A film showing was viewed by everybody inside the canteen which talked about the environment and how each person can support the cause. A slogan making contest was the culiminating activity was held to support the program. The slogans were then posted at a "make-up" tree in the middle of Atrium area for public viewing.
As a tribute to concludedl week that was, I would like to share a meaningful slogan written by Ely Navarro of Supply Chain Planning on Green Today, Beautiful Tomorrow: "Earth is the place where you can keep your race....go green tomorrow, win the race. |
